A children’s book where emotions are taught with humor and kindness
For a few months, I worked on a project that brought me back to the things I love most: stories, imagination, and giving shape to words through color.
I had the opportunity to create the illustrations for ‘Just a Poo on a Hat’, a children’s book written by Dr. Tarek Jomaa, now available on Amazon.
It is a story full of warmth, curiosity, and those emotions that we learn to understand only when we slow down and really listen to them.
Both as children and as adults.
I took care of every stage, from character design to storyboarding, from creating the illustrations to laying out the text, and working with the client to upload the book to Amazon KDP.
Working with Tarek made everything even easier and more stimulating.
Clear ideas, but always open to possibilities.
Kindness, trust, and a true sense of collaboration.
I really enjoyed drawing Walter, with his little universe and his emotions!
It reminded me why I fell in love with storytelling.
It was the first time I had worked on a children’s book, and considering how much fun I had, it certainly won’t be the last.
